“Certified Christian”

September 6th, 2007 by Collin

I saw this image ad while I was browsing the web earlier today looking for a part-time job. I think it speaks for itself.

Christian Singles

Today I got my first spam comment on the webpage. If I’m not mistaken, that means I have arrived.

We finally got the pictures up from all of our shows and you should go check them out. It’d be good to go see all of the updates at CollinDerrick.com or you can go directly to the online albums here. Also, the Ground Zero pre-show video is available now as well. Plus, new videos introducing our newest band member are on the YouTube site.

For those of you who don’t aren’t overly committed (read: unstable and addicted) to everything that Apple makes OR aren’t friends with such a person, you should know that there are new iPods and they are pretty.

The randomness continues with my wish short-list of instruments (real and virtual):

Things that our teachers have recommended us to purchase since the first day (cheapest options):

  • Mac ($600)
  • Mbox ProTools interface ($250)
  • Thumb Drive ($10 appx)
  • Firewire Hard drive ($70)
  • Headphones ($300 min)

Thats a total of $1230 for the bare minimum. I need to start having children and build a sweatshop for them to work in.

I went to a website where you put in your weight, height, age, etc. and it spits charts of the healthy weight ranges back at you. At the end of the results page it had a list of suggested activities.

Healthy Exercise Suggestions
Washing and waxing a car for 45 to 60 minutes

Washing windows or floors for 45 to 60 minutes
Playing volleyball for 45 minutes
Playing touch football for 30 to 45 minutes
Gardening for 30 to 45 minutes
Wheeling oneself in a wheelchair for 30 to 40 minutes
Walking 1.5 miles in 35 minutes
Basketball (shooting baskets) for 30 minutes
Bicycling 3 miles in 30 minutes

You remember the Sesame Street, “One of these things is not like the others”? Just curious.

Don’t forget to add another 100 dollars or so for that wheelchair to that $1230 bill. Rockers need to stay healthy too.

man, I wish I had a “certified Christian” label.
Then I could cuss with impunity.

I have a couple students to donate to your sweatshop… *coughs*

About [insert witty title]

Although the Collin Derrick Band calls South Carolina home, there is nothing southern about their rock. With influences including Ben Folds, Muse and Radiohead, they combine unorthodox song writing with heavy piano rock and melodic guitar hooks. Playing venues like New Brookland Tavern (Columbia, SC), Tasty World (Athens, GA) and several upstate South Carolina stages, their energetic presence engages the audience, making their shows a true musical experience.
